West Lothian Youth Action Project was set up in December 1992 to tackle youth issues in Livingston, before casting its net throughout the West Lothian area three years later.

It is an independent voluntary organisation with charitable status, part funded by West Lothian Council and based in the Community House at Aller Place in Eliburn, Livingston. The project offers a wide range of youth support, advice and information services focusing on the needs of local youngsters aged between 10 and 21.

Among the services it provides are a befriending service to young people with mental health Issues, a support mechanism for young people experiencing difficulties attending mainstream schools, a peer education programme and youth forum. The project is now also involved in a West Lothian Council initiative tackling antisocial behaviour among young people.
