The Youth Action Project is now fully operational, supporting young people and families throughout West Lothian in a variety of ways. Our detached streetwork sessions are operating in Partnership with West Lothian Community Safety Partnership, addressing issues relating to Youth Anti – Social behaviour, in addition to supporting young people who feel that they have nowhere to go or that they are being represented unfairly. You will see our team and vehicle (below) in the communities of West Lothian – please feel free to talk to us.
We are delivering 1-1 support and early intervention sessions for young people aged 10 21 years (also 22-25 if care experienced).
Our practical skills and informal education sessions continue to operate in partnership with several High schools throughout the region.
It is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new family support initiative, Roots, with 11 third sector partners working together to create a multi- faceted approach to support for families and young people experiencing mental health and well-being challenges.
We continue to deliver youth drop-ins & clubs in Blackburn, Stoneyburn, Addiewell, Craigshill and variety of youth activities.
Our befriending service has recruited and trained new volunteers and we welcome the opportunity to be back offering face to face support sessions for our vulnerable young people, often more isolated since Covid -19. Although we are no longer delivering the huge number of food parcels as we did throughout Lockdown, we can still deliver to those in crisis if referrals are made by a referral agency.
As part of the W.L Food Consortium, we continue to have a great selection of fresh fruit, veg, meat and dairy products at our Community fridge in Riverside Community wing, Craigshill every Friday from 9.30 am-12.30pm – A £3 donation is
required.
